These terms govern your use of Unruffle, including both Sort It Out (guided mediation) and Fight It Out (AI-judged debate). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
You must be at least 18 years old to use Unruffle.
Unruffle uses AI (powered by Anthropic's Claude) to guide conversations and generate content like scorecards, commentary, and verdicts. This AI-generated content reflects patterns in what you and the other person wrote — it is not professional advice of any kind, including legal, financial, medical, or psychological advice, and should not be treated as such.
Unruffle is not a substitute for a licensed therapist, counselor, mediator, or legal professional. If you're dealing with a serious situation — including anything involving safety, abuse, or legal disputes — please seek help from a qualified professional or the appropriate authority.
You're responsible for what you write in Unruffle — your statements, messages, and any information you share. Don't use Unruffle to harass, threaten, or abuse another person, impersonate someone else, or share content that's illegal, defamatory, or violates someone else's rights.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that misuse the app, including attempts to manipulate or abuse the AI systems (for example, trying to manipulate scores, verdicts, or safety detection through deceptive input).
Fight It Out is intended for lighthearted debates, not real disputes. If you bring a genuine conflict into Fight It Out, that's your choice — see our Privacy Policy and in-app messaging for more on how each mode works.
Unruffle uses coins as an in-app usage ledger for certain features. Coins are currently provided free of charge and cannot be purchased with real money. If this changes in the future, we'll update these terms and our Privacy Policy before introducing any paid features, and a separate refund policy will apply at that time.
You're responsible for keeping your account secure. You can delete your account at any time from the Profile screen — see our Privacy Policy for details on what happens to your data when you do.
You retain rights to what you write. By using Unruffle, you give us permission to process your content (including sending it to Anthropic's Claude AI, as described in our Privacy Policy) solely to provide the app's features to you. Unruffle's name, logo, design, and AI-generated formats (like the scorecard and verdict structures) belong to us.
Unruffle is provided "as is." We don't guarantee the AI's output will be accurate, fair, or helpful in every situation — AI systems can make mistakes. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Unruffle and its creators are not liable for outcomes, decisions, or actions you take based on anything generated in the app, including scorecards, commentary, or verdicts.
We may update these terms occasionally. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated terms.
